We consider the hyperbolic generalization of Burgers equation τ u tt − κu xx + A uu x + B u t + H u x = f (u). For some special combination of parameters we succeed to find the subset of exact solutions to this equation, where the auto-Bäcklund transformation u(x, t) = M (x, t)Exp(h(x, t)) + Q(x, t) Exp(h(x, t)) + 1 to classical Burgers equation is still valid. As an example the bi-soliton solu...

In this paper, a nonlinear dispersive wave equation Burgers-Poisson (BP) equation is considered. We present a classification of group invariant solutions for the BP equation by using classical Lie method. Mathematics Subject Classification; 35Q53

Existence, uniqueness and regularity of the global weak solution to the Burgers equation with a reaction term is shown when the reaction term is given as a time independent point source and produces heat constantly. An explicit solution is obtained and used to show the long time asymptotic convergence of the solution to a steady state. For the heat equation case without any convection the solut...

In this paper we study the dynamics of a Burgers’ type equation (1.1). First, we use a new method called attractor bifurcation introduced by Ma and Wang in [4, 6] to study the bifurcation of Burgers’ type equation out of the trivial solution. For Dirichlet boundary condition, we get pitchfork attractor bifurcation as the parameter λ crosses the first eigenvalue. For periodic boundary condition,...

The unsmooth boundary will greatly affect motion morphology of a shallow water wave, and a fractal space is introduced to establish a generalized KdV-Burgers equation with fractal derivatives. The semi-inverse method is used to establish a fractal variational formulation of the problem, which provides conservation laws in an energy form in the fractal space and possible solution structures of t...

It has been known for a while that a nonlinear equation driven by singular noise must be interpreted in the re-normalized, or Wick, form. For the stochastic Burgers equation, Wick nonlinearity forces the solution to be a generalized process no matter how regular the random perturbation is, whence the curse. On the other hand, certain multiplicative random perturbations of the deterministic Burg...

A new differential quadrature method based on quartic B-spline functions is introduced. The weighting coefficients are determined via a semi-explicit algorithm containing an algebraic equation system with four-band coefficient matrix. In order to validate the proposed method, the Burgers’ Equation is selected as test problem. The shock wave and the sinusoidal disturbance solutions of the Burger...

In this paper, we present a new method for solving Reproducing Kernel Space (RKS) theory, and iterative algorithm for solving Generalized Burgers Equation (GBE) is presented. The analytical solution is shown in a series in a RKS, and the approximate solution u(x,t) is constructed by truncating the series. The convergence of u(x,t) to the analytical solution is also proved.

In this work we generate the numerical solutions of Burgers’ equation by applying the Crank-Nicholson method and different schemes for solving nonlinear systems, instead of using Hopf-Cole transformation to reduce Burgers’ equation into the linear heat equation. The method is analyzed on two test problems in order to check its efficiency on different kinds of initial conditions. Numerical solut...

This paper examines the properties of a regularization of the Burgers equation in one and multiple dimensions using a filtered convective velocity, which we have dubbed as the convectively filtered Burgers (CFB) equation. A physical motivation behind the filtering technique is presented. An existence and uniqueness theorem for multiple dimensions and a general class of filters is proven. Multip...
