A hydrogen polysulfide mediated aziridine ring-opening reaction was discovered. Based on this reaction, a novel H2S(n)-specific chemosensor (AP) was developed. AP showed high sensitivity and selectivity for H2S(n). Notably, the fluorescent turn-on product (1) exhibited excellent two-photon photophysical properties, a large Stokes shift, and high solid state luminescent efficiency.

Fabrication and characterization of a new amperometric chemosensor for accurate formaldehyde analysis based on platinized gold electrodes is described. The platinization process was performed electrochemically on the surface of 4 mm gold planar electrodes by both electrolysis and cyclic voltamperometry. The produced electrodes were characterized using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray spec...

A novel peptide fluorescent chemosensor (H2L) with a lysine backbone and both -NH2 sites conjugated with cysteine and dansyl groups has been designed and synthesized by solid phase peptide synthesis with Fmoc chemistry. This chemosensor is a promising analytical tool for detecting Cd(2+) based on the photo-induced electron transfer (PET) effect by turn-on response in 100% aqueous solutions. As ...

A new pentaquinone-based chemosensor armed with phenolic moieties has been synthesized. The fluorescence behaviour of the chemosensor in the presence of different chemical inputs mimics the functions of a digital encoder.

A simple chemosensor, 4-amino antipyrine linked bis-1,2,3-triazole, was synthesized via the “Click” approach using CuAAC method and characterized by FTIR, NMR, ESI-MS spectroscopy. The chemosensor upon ion...

A new pyrene derivative (1) containing a diaminomaleonitrile moiety exhibits high selectivity for Cu2þ detection. Significant fluorescence enhancement was observed with chemosensor 1 in the presence of Cu2þ. However, the metal ions Agþ, Ca2þ, Cd2þ, Co2þ, Fe2þ, Fe3þ, Hg2þ, Mg2þ, Mn2þ, Ni2þ, Pb2þ, and Zn2þ produced only minor changes in fluorescence values for the system. The apparent association...

[reaction: see text] The development of an ion-selective chemosensor for Cd(2+) allows generation of a "real-time" sensor. Immobilization of the chemosensor on quartz was achieved in a simple monolayer and in a thin film using a polymer intermediary. As intended, the thin film contains much more chemosensor than the monolayer and provides measurable responses to aqueous Cd(2+) concentrations be...

A simple, rapid, and convenient colorimetric chemosensor of a specific target toward the end user is still required for on-site detection and real-time monitoring applications. In this study, we developed a rapid in situ colorimetric assay for cobalt detection using the naked eye. Interestingly, a yellow to light orange visual color transition was observed within 3 s when a Chrysoidine G (CG) c...

We have designed and synthesized the highly selective and reversible fluorescent chemosensor 1 for Au(3+) by modifications on the fluorescent copper chemodosimeter 2, and we have further demonstrated that chemosensor 1 could be employed to image Au(3+) in living cells.
