This paper introduces a model for the operation of the demultiplexers based on the CCS language. The main result is a set of recursive rules for the one-dimensional expanding of demultiplexers. Starting from the CCS model for 1×2 DMUX and 1×22 DMUX we shall infer the CCS model for the general case of a 1× 2n DMUX.

this study is to measure the impact of the insertion of demultiplexers based on Bragg grating filter on DWDM transmission system. An optical link has been developed using a simulator system. The impact of demultiplexers on 10 Gbit/s DWDM system is investigated for NRZ-OOK coding formats. Performances of demultiplexers with different crosstalk, filter bandwidth and insertion losses are analyzed t...

We present the analysis and design of a new type of photonic crystal (PC) demultiplexers (i.e., preconditioned demultiplexer), in which the simultaneous existence of the superprism effect and the negative effective index for diffraction results in a compact structure by canceling the second-order spectral phase to avoid beam broadening inside the PC. This approach considerably relaxes the requi...

For the first time, PHAS AR-based wavelength demultiplexers with integrated detectors have been packaged in an industry-standard Butterfly-type module. 8-Channel nearly polarisation-independent operation is demonstrated. In addition, 4nm tuning is realised.

Wavelength-division demultiplexers are a fundamental component needed for many proposed integrated photonic systems. By using filter banks based on microring resonators it is possible to create demultiplexers that are two orders of magnitude smaller and achieve better performance than the discrete component demultiplexers currently used. To create a filter bank out of microring resonators the r...

Entanglement--one of the most delicate phenomena in nature--is an essential resource for quantum information applications. Scalable photonic quantum devices must generate and control qubit entanglement on-chip, where quantum information is naturally encoded in photon path. Here we report a silicon photonic chip that uses resonant-enhanced photon-pair sources, spectral demultiplexers and reconfi...

Fabry-Perot Filters are major candidates for use as demultiplexers in wavelength division multiple access networks. In this paper we investigate the crosstalk limitations of such filters, compare their performances, and optimize the filter design to minimize the crosstalk degradation.

The testability of a class of regular circuits called divergent trees is investigated under a functional fault model. Divergent trees include such practical circuits as decoders and demultiplexers. We prove that uncontrolled divergent trees are testable with a fixed number of test patterns (C-testable) if and only if the module function is surjective. Testable controlled trees are also surjecti...
