Due to the importance of longest path analysis in networks of queues, we develop an analytical method for computing the steady-state distribution function of longest path in acyclic networks of queues. We assume the network consists of a number of queuing systems and each one has either one or infinite servers. The distribution function of service time is assumed to be exponential or Erlang. Fu...

Bi-directional Transmission (or Reflection) Distribution Functions, commonly named BTDFs (and BRDFs), are essential quantities to describe any complex fenestration system in details. They are defined as the ratio of the luminance diffused from a surface element in a given direction (after transmission or reflection), and the illuminance incident on the sample. However, these functions are capab...

Heart sounds and murmurs are timevarying signals that would best be analyzed using timefrequency analysis. Windowed Wigner-Ville distribution (WWVD) and smooth windowed Wigner-Vffle distribution (SWWVD) are used to obtain the timefrequency representation of the signal. Determination of parameter setting of WWVD and SWWVD will eliminate the cross-terms and improve time frequency representation. ...

We present a novel method of simulating wave effects in graphics using ray–based renderers with a new function: the Wave BSDF (Bidirectional Scattering Distribution Function). Reflections from neighboring surface patches represented by local BSDFs are mutually independent. However, in many surfaces with wavelengthscale microstructures, interference and diffraction requires a joint analysis of r...

Much of the discussion of decoherence has been in terms of a particle moving in one dimension that is placed in an initial superposition state (a Schrödinger ”cat” state) corresponding to two widely separated wave packets. Decoherence refers to the destruction of the interference term in the quantum probability function. Here, we stress that a quantitative measure of decoherence depends not onl...

Several characterizations of a New Modified Weibull distribution, introduced by Doostmoradi et al. (2014), are presented. These characterizations are based on: (i) truncated moment of a function of the random variable (ii) the hazard function (iii) a single function of the random variable (iv) truncated moment of certain function of the 1st order statistic.

the hydration of biomolecules is vitally important in molecular biology, so in this paper thesolvation energy and radial distribution function of dna bases have been calculated by themonte carlo simulation.the geometries of isolated adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thyminehave been optimized using 6-31+g(d,p) basis function sets. these geometries then will be used inthe monte carlo calculation o...

Bidirectional reflectance distribution function provides a physical description of material appearance. In particular, it helps to describe the gloss. We suggest that, at least, one attribute of gloss: Contrast gloss (luster), may be described directly from an image by using local image contrast measurement. In this article, we investigate the relation between image contrast measures, gloss per...

An analysis of one of the approaches to cloth modeling is carried out in this paper. The real 3D structure of the cloth at micro level is considered and the lighting simulation with the accuracy control is provided. The simulation result in BSDF form is a full description of optical properties of the cloth sample. It allows us to produce the “far view” of the cloth accurately and fast.

Using the distribution theory one obtains certain explicit representation...
