For 93 stored serum samples tested by HerpeSelect2 and the Euroimmun enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for detection of herpes simplex virus type 2-specific immunoglobulin G antibodies, the concordance of positive and negative results was 100%. Moreover, all the results that were equivocal by HerpeSelect2 (negative by Euroimmun) were confirmed as being negative by a Western blot assay.
We compared the performances of five commercial rubella virus immunoglobulin G (IgG) avidity assays. The Adaltis (kappa = 0.28) and Diesse (kappa = 0.33) assays showed poor correlation, the Behring assay (kappa = 0.68) showed good correlation, and the Euroimmun (kappa = 0.95) and Radim (kappa = 0.94) assays showed excellent correlation with a well-established in-house rubella virus IgG avidity ...
Commercial serologic assays for varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which enable reliable determination of VZV immune status and are amenable to automation, are needed. The present study compares the automated performance of the VZV whole-cell enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) Enzygnost anti-VZV/IgG, the Euroimmun anti-VZV ELISA (IgG) based on highly purified viral proteins, and the VZV glyco...
A new commercial anti-Japanese encephalitis virus IgM and IgG indirect immunofluorescence test (IIFT) was evaluated for the detection of the humoral immune response after Japanese encephalitis vaccination. The IgM IIFT was compared to two IgM capture ELISAs and the IgG IIFT was analysed in comparison to a plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT50) and an IgG ELISA. Moreover, the course of th...
OBJECTIVES IgM antibodies are usually the first to be produced during treponemal infection. Three commercially available enzyme immunoassays (EIA) for detection of IgM antibodies against Treponema pallidum were evaluated. METHODS Results of the Anti-Treponema-pallidum-ELISA (IgM; Euroimmun), Pathozyme Syphilis M Capture (Omega Diagnostics) and recomWell Treponema IgM (Mikrogen) were compared ...
Accurate determination of the concentrations of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody to tetanus toxoid is important in order to evaluate the immunogenicity of tetanus toxoid vaccines, determine immune competence in individual patients, and measure the prevalence of immunity in populations. The performance of three commercially available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) for IgG antibodies ...
BACKGROUND The number of diagnostic assays for the detection of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) antibodies has increased over the years. However, their performance characteristics could vary among global populations. OBJECTIVE To investigate performance of two commercial ELISA kits, HerpeSelect® 1 ELISA and Euroimmun Anti-HSV-1 (gC1) ELISA (IgG); and two commercial immunoblot (IB)/Western...
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The obligate intracellular bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis causes sexually transmissible diseases in human. Timely and sensitive detection of this pathogen is very important. There are many cross-reactions in bacteriological and serological methods in detection of this type of pathogens. The aim of this study was to achieve a more specific antigen for serological tests...
Background Autoantibodies against cN-1A (Mup44) are primarily used as a biomarker for inclusion body myositis (IBM), they also occur with lower prevalence in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Sjögren’s Syndrome (SjS). has been included parameter on the multiparameter lineblot Autoimmune Inflammatory Myopathies 16 Ag et (EUROIMMUN), allowing detection of 17 myositis-specific myositis-associ...
