We report a case of bilateral metastatic renal hemangiopericytoma. A 37-year-old Caucasian male presented in 1993 with intracranial hemangiopericytoma. Subsequent metastatic disease noted years later include bilateral renal hemangiopericytoma 10 years after initial presentation. To our knowledge, this is only the second reported case of bilateral metastatic renal hemangiopericytoma.

Hemangiopericytoma, a rare mesenchymal tumour, is believed to originate from the pericyte of Zimmermann. It may affect every organ in the body. Recurrences after treatment and metastasis are well known. However, presentation of hemangiopericytoma with peritoneal carcinomatosis is not documented in literature. To the best our knowledge, we report the imaging findings of the first histologically ...

INTRODUCTION A hemangiopericytoma is a rare, soft-tissue tumor of vascular origin derived from a pericyte of Zimmerman, which is a modified smooth muscle cell that surrounds the small blood vessels. Hemangiopericytomas can occur wherever there are vascular capillaries. However, there are no previous reports of a hemangiopericytoma in the sacrococcygeal space. CASE PRESENTATION We describe the...

OBJECTIVE Hemangiopericytoma is an aggressive vascular tumour that rarely affects the central nervous system and is even more rarely spinal in presentation. The clinical features of a patient with a recurrent extraspinal hemangiopericytoma presenting with an epidural spinal cord compression by local invasion are described, including a review of the literature on metastatic hemangiopericytoma to...

Background: Solitary fibrous tumor / hemangiopericytoma (SFT HPC) and fibroblastic types of meningioma have similarities that is difficult to distinguish based on histology. Immunohistochemistry STAT6 SSTR2A are definitive biomarkers in both tumors. Inversion-mediated fusions between two genes, NAB2 STAT6, were detected SFT HPC inducES proliferation cells. The somatostatin receptor (SSTR) 2 loc...

Unpredicted sudden death arising from hemangiopericytoma with massive intracranial hemorrhage is quite rare. We encountered a patient with recurrent infratentorial hemangiopericytoma presenting as life-threatening massive intracerebral hemorrhage. A 43-year-old man who had undergone craniotomy for total resection of an infratentorial hemangiopericytoma 17 months earlier presented with morning h...

Hemangiopericytoma is an aggressive, highly metastatic tumor of the soft tissues and meninges. Metastases have been reported in the liver, lungs, bones and rarely other organs. To the best of our knowledge, 18 cases of pancreatic metastases have been reported, but none have been described in the radiology literature. We report a case of hemangiopericytoma with metastasis to the pancreas and des...

Hemangiopericytoma is an uncommon mesenchymal neoplasm, first described by Stout and Murray in 1942. Hemangiopericytoma is considered to be a tumor of pericytes. Apart from being rare in absolute terms, hemangiopericytoma is uncommon in the head and neck. Most of the cases described till now are usually in the trunk or lower extremities.1 The incidence in head and neck region is less than 20%. ...
