extensive research in the last decade has defined that most chronic diseases display dysregulation of multiple cell signaling pathways that have been linked to inflammation. neuroinflammation is reaction of living nervous tissue to injury. it may be initiated in response to neurological disease. including infection, traumatic brain injury, toxic metabolites and autoimmunity. the natural compoun...

programmed cell death, which can be classified into apoptosis, autophagy, and oncosis, based on the cellular signalling pathways involved in the process, plays a critical role in cellular house-keeping. aberrant cell death regulation leads to body malformations, as well as to numerous diseases. here, we describe the effects of cytototoxins isolated from marine organisms on the various programme...

background and objectives: in the present study, isolation of streptomyces associated with marine sponges and its bioactive potential against fish and shellfish pathogens were assessed. the streptomyces sp. were isolated from the marine sponges namely callyspongia diffusa, mycale mytilorum, tedania anhelans and dysidea fragilis collected from vizhinjam port, situated in the south-west coast of ...

Organotin compounds have been found different application in industries, agricultures and pharmacological sciences via their various physical and biological specifications. One of the most important applications of these compounds, especially tributyltin TBT is in marine antifouling paints and coatings. Concern about the accumulation of tributyltin compounds on fish and shellfish and the advers...

Background: Marine life has long been used for their bioactive compounds. Several amazing compounds with different biological activities have so far been identified in tunicates. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of tunichrome released from phallusia nigra marine tunicates collected from Bushehr province coasts, against four strains of Staphylococcus aure...

The average concentrations of TBT ngSng were found as 235 in fish, 116 in mussels and 635 in barnacles. All mussels sampled showed values of TBT+DBT, which were below the "tolerable average residue level (TARL)" as currently accepted. Barnacles have high potential as biomonitors for the presence of organotin in the Aegean Sea.

The peer-reviewed marine pharmacology literature from 2012 to 2013 was systematically reviewed, consistent with the 1998-2011 reviews of this series. Marine pharmacology research from 2012 to 2013, conducted by scientists from 42 countries in addition to the United States, reported findings on the preclinical pharmacology of 257 marine compounds. The preclinical pharmacology of compounds isolat...

Biodiversity in the seas is only partly explored, although marine organisms are excellent sources for many industrial products. Through close co-operation between industrial and academic partners, it is possible to successfully collect, isolate and classify marine organisms, such as bacteria, fungi, micro- and macroalgae, cyanobacteria, and marine invertebrates from the oceans and seas globally...

Biodiversity of the marine world is only partially subjected to detailed scientific scrutiny in comparison to terrestrial life. Life in the marine world depends heavily on marine fungi scavenging the oceans of lifeless plants and animals and entering them into the nutrient cycle by. Approximately 150 to 200 new compounds, including alkaloids, sesquiterpenes, polyketides, and aromatic compounds,...
