telenomus beneficiens is a common egg parasitoid of sugarcane top borer scirpophaga excerptalis; however, in winter time the incidence of the parasitoid on top borer eggs is extremely low. t. beneficiens adults were released at various time durations into sugarcane plots to evaluate the parasitic potentiality of the parasitoid against sugarcane top-borer. the egg parasitoid t. beneficiens of su...

Telenomus parides Loiácono et Margaría sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on specimens reared from the eggs of Parides ascanius (Cramer). Parides ascanius is a threatened papilionid, which is endemic to the restingas of the Atlantic Forest of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The new Telenomus species is gregarious endoparasitoid and belongs to the Telenomus californicus species complex.

This work aims to evaluate the interspecific interaction between Trichogramma pretiosum and Telenomus remus, two biological control agents of fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) eggs. Eggs of Spodoptera frugiperda previously parasitized by Telenomus remus were offered to Trichogramma pretiosum, and those parasitized by Trichogramma pretiosum were offered to Telenomus remus. The previously par...

We describe seasonal patterns of parasitism by Telenomus coloradensis Crawford, Telenomus droozi Muesebeck, Telenomus flavotibiae Pelletier (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae), and Trichogramma spp. (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae), egg parasitoids of the hemlock looper, Lambdina fiscellaria (Guenée) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae), after a 3-yr survey of defoliated stands in the lower St. Lawrence region (...

SACCHARINA WALKER

Early attempts at the biological control of the pyralid borer Eldana saccharina Walker were discussed in a paper presented at the Congress of the South African Sugar Technologists' Association in 1979. Since then further introductions of both egg and larval parasitoids have been made and include: Trichogrammatoidea eldanae Vigianni, Trichogramma sp and Telenomus applanatus Bin & Johnson (from W...

The Tribe Hemilophini (Lamiinae) is reviewed for Hispaniola and an identification key is provided. Fifteen species are now known from the island, including one new species of Adesmus (Adesmus fortunei from Pedernales and La Vega Provinces, Dominican Republic), one new species of Oedudes (Oedudes anulatus from Peravia and La Vega Provinces, Dominican Republic), and five new species of Calocosmus...

A taxonomic revision of the genus Euseboides Gahan is presented. Two new species, E. motuoensis sp. nov. and E. reni sp. nov., are described from China; habitus, male terminalia and aedeagus are illustrated. E. gorodinskii and E. tonkinensis are newly recorded from China. The male terminalia and aedeagus of E. gorodinskii, E. matsudai and E. punctatissimus are described for the first time. A ne...

Parasitoid wasps of the subfamily Telenominae (Hymenoptera: Platygastroidea, Platygastridae) develop as immatures within the eggs of other insects (Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Diptera and Neuroptera). Rearing records indicate that individual species are restricted to attack hosts within only one of these four main groups. We conducted a phylogenetic analysis of the group using sequence data from mu...
