The promotion of clinical image quality is a primary goal of the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). In fact, there is a requirement in the MQSA regulations that “[c]linical images produced by any certified facility must continue to comply with the standards for clinical image quality established by that facility’s accreditation body” (21 CFR 900.12(i)). When performing clinical image rev...

This paper describes an Automated Visual Inspection System SIVATUN" for quality control of Tuna Meat which automate manual inspection operation. Depending on whether tuna are reared in cages or in the open sea and depending on the method of capture (electroslaughtering, shooting, etc.), differences are observed and changes take place in the organic nature of Blue Fin Tuna (Thunnus Thynnus) meat...

In order to assure appearance quality of an industrial product, sensory inspection by human vision (visual inspection) is implemented in many manufacturing industries. This study focuses on the fact that the frequency of occurrence of defective products varies each time in production processes, and also considers the relationship between the mixing rate of the defective product and defect detec...

-Fabric inspection system is important to maintain the quality of fabric. Fabric inspection is carried out manually with human visual inspection for a long time. The work of inspectors is very tedious and consumes time and cost.To reduce the wastage of cost and time, automatic fabric inspection is required. This paper proposes an approach to recognize fabric defects in textile industry for mini...

As a result of recent advancements in computer technology, hybrid inspection systems, those in which humans and computers work cooperatively, have found increasing application in quality control processes. These systems are preferable because they take advantage of the superiority of humans in rational decision-making and adaptability to new circumstances. Although the classical performance iss...

Acceptance Sampling models have been widely applied in companies for the inspection and testing the raw material as well as the final products. A number of lots of the items are produced in a day in the industries so it may be impossible to inspect/test each item in a lot. The acceptance sampling models only provide the guarantee for the producer and consumer that the items in the lots are acco...

Quality of software products typically has to be assured throughout the entire software development life-cycle. However, software development documents (e.g. requirements specifications, design documents, test plans) are often not as rigorously reviewed as source code, although their quality has a major impact on the quality of the evolving software product. Due to the narrative nature of these...

Today, computer vision inspection systems are widely used for quality control in order to reduce the costs and to improve the product quality. The glass industry is constantly trying to improve quality by substituting the human control with automated inspection systems but several problems must be solved. In this paper the problem of detecting and measuring the defects of satin glasses is inves...

In this paper a multi-product production systems (MPPS) with in-line quality control is examined. The problem of determining the optimal inspection strategy that results in lowest total inspection cost, while assuring required outgoing quality level is modelled discrete-event simulation is used to model the production system. The optimal allocation is determined by using a tabu search algorithm.
