Bat coronaviruses (Bt-CoVs) are thought to be the precursors of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus. We detected Bt-CoVs in 2 bat species from Trinidad. Phylogenetic analysis of the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase gene and helicase confirmed them as group 1 coronaviruses.

Abstract We determined the seroprevalence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in an affected area northern Iran April 2020. Antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 were detected 528 persons by using rapid tests. Adjusted prevalence seropositivity was 22.2% (95% CI 16.4%–28.5%).
