Background and Objective: Newborns often experience pain during routine invasive procedures. Although the pain caused by immunization injections could be controlled, but this procedure in infants is often done without pain relief. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of 20%oral sucrose on the relief of pain from Hepatitis Bvaccine injection in full term infants. Material and Methods: ...

Background and Objectives: Several studies have shown that sucrose intake results in pain relief during painful procedures among neonates. The effect of sucrose intake on intramuscular injection pain have less been studied. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of oral sucrose 30% on pain relief of Hepatitis B vaccine injection in full-term infants. Materials and Methods: In this tripl...

We evaluated the absorption and metabolism of palatinose in rats by the carbohydrate load test and the 13C- and H2-breath tests. We compared the results of these tests with those of sucrose, since sucrose is an isomer of palatinose and generally known to be degraded and absorbed from the small intestine. In the carbohydrate load test, blood glucose and plasma insulin levels after oral administr...

Objectives: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is the most common nutritional among pregnant women in India. can be supplemented orally or intravenously to treat IDA. Intravenous supplementation of iron risky as there more possibility for production free circulation. The role generation radicals and thereby oxidative stress well known. present study tends evaluate antioxidant status intravenous sucro...

Oral sucrose is administered routinely to reduce pain of minor procedures in premature infants and is recommended as standard care in international guidelines. No human or animal studies on effects of early repeated sucrose exposure on long-term brain development have been done in the context of pain. We evaluated the effects of repeated neonatal sucrose treatment before an intervention on long...

The solubilized entomotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis killed adult male and female mosquitoes of several genera and of various physiological states when it was administered orally. Adult mosquito mortality was further influenced when the preparation was contained in sucrose solution. The potential implication for the control of adult mosquitoes is discussed.

OBJECTIVE Iron therapy may reinforce intestinal inflammation by catalysing production of reactive oxygen species. The effects of oral ferrous fumarate and intravenous iron sucrose on clinical disease activity and plasma redox status were investigated in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). MATERIAL AND METHODS Nineteen patients with iron deficiency anaemia and Crohn's disease (11) ...
