enzymes are so crucial in the mineralization process of organic material. information of the soil enzymes activity is used in determining of the soil microbial properties and they are also important in soil health and quality. topographic attributes, soil properties and soil enzymes are associated together. hence, it is essential to know how these parameters affect on the soil enzymes activity....

Topographic patterns are known to affect cellular processes such as adhesion, migration and differentiation. However, the optimal way to deliver topographic signals to provide cells with precise instructions has not been defined yet. In this work, we hypothesize that topographic patterns may be able to control the sensing and adhesion machinery of cells when their interval features are tuned on...

In this paper, we show how a topographic mapping can be created from a product of experts. We learn the parameters of the mapping using gradient descent on the negative logarithm of the probability density function of the data under the model. We show that the mapping, though retaining its product of experts form, becomes more like a mixture of experts during training.

Topographic and overcomplete representations of natural images/videos are important problems in computational neuroscience. We propose a new method using both topographic and overcomplete representations of natural images, showing emergence of properties similar to those of complex cells in primary visual cortex (V1). This method can be considered as an extension of model in Hyvärinen et al. [T...

Object representation in the inferior temporal cortex (IT), an area of visual cortex critical for object recognition in the primate, exhibits two prominent properties: (1) objects are represented by the combined activity of columnar clusters of neurons, with each cluster representing component features or parts of objects, and (2) closely related features are continuously represented along the ...

Conventional soil survey methods for soils within the watersheds in Iran require a significant budget with many soil surveyors and much time. Additionally, no accurate and reliable information exists on the spatial variability of superface soil parameters in order to predict the soil loss by different models (RUSLE, PISAC, EUPOSEM, MORGAN). Also information on planning and management activities...

Computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS) is a well-known acronym in qualitative research. Nowadays, qualitative researchers are inclined to apply such software for various purposes. Critiques of the use of CAQDAS in qualitative research focus on the term “analysis”, claiming that that the tool does little to analyze data. According to these critiques, some users of CAQDAS a...
