چکیده مقاله:

ABSTRACT In this research which was performed with bench Scale, Adsorption of Cr(VI) from Industrial wastewater was studied & biological method of Activated sludge batch flow reactors utilized. This study indicated that Cr(VI) at first adsorped with cell walls of bacteria & then after Sedimentation it was intered to sludge & finally was removed from effluent. In this study Cr (VI) adsorption pattern was according to FreundlichIsoterm. The COD of synthetic wastwater was 3000 mg/L & Cr(VI) added to the reactors in three different stages with the Concentration of 5,10& 25mg/L. In the 1st to 3rd stage with 10,8.5 & 9 hrs detention time Cr(VI) adsorption ratio on MLSS was 88%, 70% & 95% respectively. According to the condition of this study Cr(VI) had no toxic effects on Activated sludge microorganisms in the reactors and the rate of microbial synthesis was increased.

BIOLOGICAL Cr(VI) REDUCTION

Scientific interest on chromium removal from water and wastewater has escalated recently. Chromium compounds exist in the environment naturally but are mostly found due to anthropogenic activities (tanning, paint, cement industries, etc.). Hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] is of major environmental importance because it is one of the most stable chromium forms found in the environment. It is soluble...

Determination of Cr(VI) in Environmental Samples Evaluating Cr(VI) Impact in a Contaminated Area

Spectrophotometric determination of Cr (using 1.5–diphenyl carbazide), in aqueous, sediment and soil samples is reported. Different leaching reagents like 0.5M NaOH-0.28M Na2CO3 and 0.2 M H3PO4 were used for the isolation of Cr from sediment and soil samples. Determination of Cr by using 0.5M NaOH-0.28M Na2CO3 as leaching reagent followed by spectrophotometric measurements provided satisfied re...

Adsorption of Cr(VI) and Speciation of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) in Aqueous Solutions Using Chemically Modified Chitosan

A new type of grafting chitosan (CTS) was synthesized using 2-hydroxyethyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride (HGCTS). The adsorption of Cr(VI) on HGCTS was studied. The effect factors on adsorption and the adsorption mechanism were considered. The results indicated that the HGCTS could concentrate and separate Cr(VI) at pH 4.0; the adsorption equilibrium time was 80 min; the maximum adsorption capaci...

Determination of Cr (VI) in Tea

MOJ Food process Technol 2017, 4(3): 00096 The most stable oxidation states of chromium, e.g. Cr(III) and Cr(VI), exhibit significantly different biological and toxicological properties. Cr(III) is considered as an essential element for the proper functioning of living organisms, particularly in glucose metabolism, while Cr(VI) shows mutagenic effects. It is regarded as carcinogenic owing to it...

The effectiveness of four organic matter amendments for decreasing resin-extractable Cr(VI) in Cr(VI)-contaminated soils.

This paper compared the effectiveness of four organic materials for decreasing the amounts of soil extractable Cr(VI) in Cr(VI)-contaminated soils using the DOWEX M4195 resin-extraction method. Organic matters were added into Cr(VI)-spiked soils [500 mg Cr(VI)(kgsoil)(-1)] in the form of sugarcane dregs compost (SCDC), cattle-dung compost (CDC), soybean meal (SBM) and rice bran (RB), in the amo...
