چکیده مقاله:

Objective (s): This study aimed at investigation of preparation and stability study of Mitomycin and Mitomycin loaded nanoliposems and efficacy of the combination of Mitomycin -loaded nanoliposomes and Curcumin versus Mitomycin in suppressing HTB-9 and L929 cell lines, in vitro.Materials and Methods: An HPLC method was validated based on Q2 (R1) International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guideline for determination of Mitomycin in pharmaceutical samples. Soybean phosphatidylcholine (SPC) or hydrogenated soybean phosphatidylcholine (HSPC) mixed with cholesterol at 2:1 molar ratio respectively in two different groups to prepare Mitomycin nanoliposomes. Cell toxicity of free Mitomycin, Mitomycin loaded liposomes and curcumin was measured using MTT assay in bladder cancer cell line for treatment group and Fibroblast-like cell as control group. Also, propidium iodide staining was done to determine the level of DNA fragmentation. Results: The validated HPLC method showed stability based on the ICH guideline (n=3 and RSD

Liposomal curcumin and its application in cancer

Curcumin (CUR) is a yellow polyphenolic compound derived from the plant turmeric. It is widely used to treat many types of diseases, including cancers such as those of lung, cervices, prostate, breast, bone and liver. However, its effectiveness has been limited due to poor aqueous solubility, low bioavailability and rapid metabolism and systemic elimination. To solve these problems, researchers...

Liposomal curcumin with and without oxaliplatin: effects on cell growth, apoptosis, and angiogenesis in colorectal cancer.

The role of curcumin (diferuloylmethane), a proapoptotic compound, for the treatment of cancer has been an area of growing interest. Curcumin in its free form is poorly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and therefore may be limited in its clinical efficacy. Liposome encapsulation of this compound would allow systemic administration. The current study evaluated the preclinical antitumor act...

Evaluation of Cytotoxicity Effects of Combination Nano-Curcumin and Berberine in Breast Cancer Cell Line

Background: Berberine and Nano-curcumin are two herbal medicines with strong anti-cancer effects on tumor cells, but low toxicity on normal cells, when used alone. Breast cancer is known as the most common cancer in women and second deadly one. In this study, we evaluated the cytotoxicity effects of combination Berberine and Nano-curcumin in breast cancer cell line to see whether they have furt...
