We investigate amenability and weak amenability of the l1-algebra of polynomial hypergroups. We derive conditions for (weak) amenability adapted to polynomial hypergroups and show that these conditions are often not satisfied. However, for the hypergroup induced by Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind we prove amenability.
The Baum-Connes conjecture states that, for a discrete group G, the K-homology groups of the classifying space for proper G-action is isomorphic to the K-groups of the reduced group C-algebra of G [3, 2]. A positive answer to the Baum-Connes conjecture would provide a complete solution to the problem of computing higher indices of elliptic operators on compact manifolds. The rational injectivit...
We prove that for every group G and any two sets I, J , the Brandt semigroup algebras l(B(I,G)) and l(B(J,G)) are Morita equivalent with respect to the Morita theory of selfinduced Banach algebras introduced by Grønbæk. As applications, we show that if G is an amenable group, then for a wide class of Banach l(B(I,G))-bimodules E, and every n > 0, the bounded Hochschild cohomology groups H(l(B(I...
Abstract We prove that for a Banach algebra A having bounded $\mathcal {Z}(A)$ -approximate identity and every $\mathbf {[IN]}$ group G with weight w which is either constant on conjugacy classes or satisfies $w \geq 1$ , {Z}(L^{1}_{w}(G) \otimes ^{\gamma } A) \cong \mathcal {Z}(L^{1}_{w}(G)) . As an application, we discuss the conditions under {Z}(L^{1}_{\omega }(G,A))$ enjoys certain algebrai...
We examine some of Connes’ criticisms of Robinson’s infinitesimals starting in 1995. Connes sought to exploit the Solovay model S as ammunition against non-standard analysis, but the model tends to boomerang, undercutting Connes’ own earlier work in functional analysis. Connes described the hyperreals as both a “virtual theory” and a “chimera”, yet acknowledged that his argument relies on the t...
In this paper by using some conditions, we show that the weak amenability of (2n)-th dual of a Banach algebra A for some $ngeq 1$ implies the weak amenability of A.
In 2005, A. Abdollahi and A. Rejali, studied the relations betweenparadoxical decomposition and configuration for semigroups. In thepresent paper, we introduce one other concept of amenability typeon semigroups and groups which includes amenability of semigroupsand inner-amenability of groups. We have extend the previous knownresults to semigroups and groups satisfying this concept.
We prove that any free cocycle action of a countable amenable group $\Gamma$ on II$_1$ factor $N$ can be perturbed by inner automorphisms to genuine action. This {\em vanishing cohomology} property, we call $\mathcal V\mathcal C$, is also closed products with amalgamation over finite groups. But beyond this no other examples C$-groups are known. In turn, considering special actions $\Gamma \cur...
In recent years, there has been a flurry of activity relating notions linked to amenability or groups on one side, and combinatorial conditions linked to Ramsey theory on the other side. In this paper, we extend a result of Moore ([M2, theorem 7.1]) on the amenability of closed subgroups of S∞ to general Polish groups. A topological group is said to be amenable if every continuous action of the...
in this thesis we will present three topics. we define approximate fixed points in fuzzy normed spaces. also we obtain some necessary and sufficient conditions on the existence of? -fixed points for ? > 0. at the continue some results about approximate fixed points for a class of non-expansive maps on g-metric spaces are obtained and we define approximate fixed points in partial metric spa...
