This text, which takes Cronbach and Gleser’s diagnostic decisions utility model as its major point of reference and the Thematic Apperception Test as its example, is devoted to the issue of the diagnostic value of projective techniques. The paper provides a brief discussion of the classification of projective techniques and shows how information on the category of tool can be used to select the...
Head splitting techniques have been successfully exploited to improve the asymptotic runtime of parsing algorithms for projective dependency trees, under the arc-factored model. In this article we extend these techniques to a class of non-projective dependency trees, called well-nested dependency trees with block-degree at most 2, which has been previously investigated in the literature. We def...
In this paper, we introduce the notion of {bf K}-flat projective fuzzy quantales, and give an elementary characterization in terms of a fuzzy binary relation on the fuzzy quantale. Moreover, we prove that {bf K}-flat projective fuzzy quantales are precisely the coalgebras for a certain comonad on the category of fuzzy quantales. Finally, we present two special cases of {bf K} as examples.
The number of apparent double points of a smooth, irreducible projective variety X of dimension n in P is the number of secant lines to X passing through the general point of P. This classical notion dates back to Severi. In the present paper we classify smooth varieties of dimension at most three having one apparent double point. The techniques developed for this purpose allow to treat a wider...
Projective mapping and sorting tasks—often called “Holistic” methods—are methods that directly obtain similarity measurements between products by asking participants (who could be novices, trained assessors, or experts, adults or children) to provide a global evaluation of a set of products of interest. In projective mapping, each participant is asked to place products on a sheet of paper in su...
in this paper, lie group structure and lie algebra structure of unit complex 3-sphere are studied. in order to do this, adjoint representations of unit biquaternions (complexified quaternions) are obtained. also, a correspondence between the elements of and the special complex unitary matrices (2) is given by expressing biquaternions as 2-dimensional bicomplex numbers . the relat...
Projective texture mapping is used to project a texture map onto scene geometry. It has been used in many applications, since it eliminates the assignment of fixed texture coordinates and provides a good method of representing synthetic images or photographs in image-based rendering. But conventional projective texture mapping has limitations in the field of view and the degree of navigation be...
There has been a lot of activity recently surrounding the reconstruction of photorealistic 3-D scenes and high-resolution images from video sequences. In this paper, we present some of our recent work in this area, which is based on the registration of multiple images (views) in a projective framework. Unlike most other techniques, we do not rely on special features to form a projective basis. ...
Geometric algebra is a universal mathematical language which provides very comprehensive techniques for analyzing the complex geometric situations occurring in robotics and computer vision. The application of the 4D motor algebra for the linearization of the the hand-eye calibration problem is presented. Geometric algebra and its associated linear algebra framework is a very elegant language to...
