Tehran, in the south of Alborz Mountains, is faced with three types of weather risk, weather risk caused by geography, climatic risks caused by air resistance and weather risk due to global warming. The aim of this study is to examine the three types of risk in Tehran. The method of this study was to evaluate the changes of synoptic factors that affect global warming and urban development. In o...
• Cool-water coastal species retract poleward & onshore in Eastern Pacific (EP) Niños. Subtropical expand with advection during EP offshore shoreward variably Niño advection. Most subtropical reproduce situ stronger El Year 2100 Central (CP) Niños show regionwide increases. We analyzed spatial distributions of 10 euphausiid the southern California Current System across seven events (1951–2018) ...
Abstract. Warm and dry summer days can lead to low streamflow due a lack of rainfall increased evaporation. In glacierized catchments, however, such periods very different hydrological response as glaciers supply an amount meltwater, thereby compensating for the deficits. Here, we analyzed glacier-fed responses warm (WD) in long-term observations (>50 years). WD events during (June–September...
Here, we define weather regimes in the East Antarctica—Southern Ocean sector based on daily anomalies of 700 hPa geopotential height derived from ERA5 reanalysis during 1979–2018. Most and their preferred transitions depict synoptic-scale disturbances propagating eastwards off Antarctic coastline. While regime sequences are generally short, interannual variability is strongly driven by polarity...
Field observations of flow and sediment transport in a tributary channel through intertidal mudflats indicate that suspended sediment was closely linked to advection and dispersion of a tidal salinity front. During calm weather when tidal forcing was dominant, high concentrations of suspended sediment advected up the mudflat channel in the narrow region between salty water from San Francisco Ba...
During rain, transient puddles form on roads, and this water is splashed into the air by moving vehicles. To determine whether this water contains Legionella pneumophila, we collected samples from roads. We found that L. pneumophila are abundant in these puddles, especially during warm weather.
