Annihilation or reduction of each kind of noise blended in correct data signals is a field that has attracted many researchers. It is a fact that fuzzy theory presents full capability in this field. Fuzzy filters are often strong in smoothing corrupted signals, whereas they have simple structures. In this paper, a new powerful yet simple fuzzy procedure is introduced for sharpness reduction in ...

in this paper, the two-dimensional triangular orthogonal functions (2d-tfs) are applied for solving a class of nonlinear two-dimensional volterra integral equations. 2d-tfs method transforms these integral equations into a system of linear algebraic equations. the high accuracy of this method is verified through a numerical example and comparison of the results with the other numerical methods.

In this paper, modification in the computational methods, for solving Non-linear Volterra integral equations, is presented. Here, two piecewise constant methods are considered for obtaining the solutions. The first method is based on Walsh Functions (WF) and the second method is via Block Pulse Functions (BPF). Comparison between the two methods is presented by calculating the errors vis-à-vis ...

We proposed the theory of multi-fuzzy sets [Sabu and Ramakrishnan (2010a), (2011a)] as an extension of theories of fuzzy sets, L-fuzzy sets [Goguen (1967)] and intuitionistic fuzzy sets [Atanassov (1986)]. Theory of multi-fuzzy sets deals with multi-level fuzziness and multi-dimensional fuzziness. Our previous papers discussed the basic notions of multi-fuzzy sets, multi-fuzzy topology, and mul...

A neuro-fuzzy system for character recognition using a fuzzy Hough transform technique is presented in this paper. For each character pattern, membership values are determined for a number of fuzzy sets defined on the standard Hough transform accumulator cells. These basic fuzzy sets are combined by t-norms to synthesize additional fuzzy sets whose heights form an ndimensional feature vector fo...

In this paper, we study fuzzy substructures in connection withHv-structures. The original idea comes from geometry, especially from thetwo dimensional Euclidean vector space. Using parameters, we obtain a largenumber of hyperstructures of the group-like or ring-like types. We connect, also, the mentioned hyperstructures with the theta-operations to obtain morestrict hyperstructures, as Hv-groups...

Traditional fuzzy logic systems are unable to handle the uncertainties of real-world applications. By "handle" I mean directly model and minimize the effect of. In this talk I will explain rule-based type-2 fuzzy logic systems and how they can handle a broad range of uncertainties totally within their framework. This is accomplished by adding a new mathematical dimension-a third dimension-to ty...
