گونه Betula litwinowii به عنوان گزارش جدیدی از شمال ایران نام برده می‌شود. ویژگی‌های ریخت شناسی این گونه با گونه نزدیک آن یعنی B. pendula مقایسه می شود. پراکنش جغرافیایی این دو گونه در ایران و مناطق مجاور نیز مورد بحث و بررسی قرار می‌گیرد.
