This research explores the application of a simulationbased scheduling algorithm to generate unload schedules for processing feeder trailers in a parcel consolidation terminal. The study compares the performance of iterative improvement and simulated annealing to produce quality schedules. The paper reports the results from a number of experimental test problems.
