In this paper, we investigate the relation between two variables where the one is measured with the ratio or interval scale and the other with the nominal. In this cases, we use from serial correlation coefficient. Computation of some serial coefficient such as biserial and point-biserial coefficient is carried out with some examples and R program.

the main purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of trade openness on the employment and the real wage for the iranian food and beverage industries over the year 2007. for this purpose in this study, the ratio of export to production value has been considered as a proxy for trade openness and the main model has been estimated using a dynamic panel data (dpd) approach. the main findin...

Food costs are the highest in milk production so they need to be minimized. In large dairy farms, total share of food cost structure ranges from 50-60%, while small farms it is above 60%. By producing one's own voluminous food, sustainable needs animals and lower can met, higher requires use concentrated nutrients produced on farm (corn, cereals). The purchase ready-mixed feeds should avoided b...

OBJECTIVE To identify associations between maternal restrictive feeding practices for child weight control and sociodemographic, behavioral, dietetic, and anthropometric characteristics. METHODS Cross-sectional study with mothers of children aged 2-8 years. Maternal feeding practices were measured by the Comprehensive Feeding Practices Questionnaire, in private schools in Brazil. Bivariate an...

We update the standard model predictions for the branching ratios of the decays B → (K,K∗,Xs) l l, with l = e, μ. Using the measurements of B(B → Xsγ) and B(B → Kll) as well as the upper limits on B(B → (K∗,Xs)l l), we work out model independent bounds on the relevant Wilson coefficients. We show the impact of such bounds on the parameter space of the MSSM with minimal flavour violation and of ...

In this paper a new class S p (α, β) of starlike functions is introduced. A subclass TS p (α, β) of S λ p (α, β) with negative coefficients is also considered. These classes are based on Ruscheweyh derivatives. Certain neighbourhood results are obtained. Partial sums fn(z) of functions f(z) in these classes are considered and sharp lower bounds for the ratios of real part of f(z) to fn(z) and f...

While extracting dynamics parameters from backbone (15)N relaxation measurements in proteins has become routine over the past two decades, it is increasingly recognized that accurate quantitative analysis can remain limited by the potential presence of systematic errors associated with the measurement of (15)N R(1) and R(2) or R(1ρ) relaxation rates as well as heteronuclear (15)N-{(1)H} NOE val...

Aeration experiments were conducted in two rectangular surface aeration tanks of L/B ratios 1.5 and 2 along with a square tank (L/B=1) to study their relative performance due to shape on oxygen transfer process while re-aerating the same volume of water such that the cross-sectional area of all the three tanks is the same. An identical rotor with six flat blades was used in all the three tanks....

Individual subjects' performance was examined for cross-modality matching (CMM) of loudness to visual area, as well as for magnitude estimation (ME) of the component continua. Average exponents of power functions relating response magnitude to stimulus intensity were .73 for area, .20 for loudness, and 2.44 for CMM. Predictions of the CMM exponent based on ME were higher than the empirical valu...

We report a detailed theoretical study of the hydrogen abstraction reaction from methanol by atomic hydrogen. The study includes the analysis of thermal rate constants, branching ratios, and kinetic isotope effects. Specifically, we have performed high-level computations at the MC3BB level together with direct dynamics calculations by canonical variational transition state theory (CVT) with the...
