本研究は、ケイ酸カルシウム水和物(C-S-H)の硫酸イオン(SO42-)収着および溶出性能を実験により評価し、その際のC-S-Hの化学的変化、具体的には固相組成および原子結合状態の変化を明らかにすることを目的として、合成C-S-Hを用いてSO42-の収着および溶出試験を実施した。その結果、Na2SO4とK2SO4のいずれを用いた場合でも、C-S-HのC/S比が高くなるとともにSO42-の収着量が増大した。また、C-S-Hに収着したSO42-は、Na+が存在する高SO42-濃度下ではGypsum、K+が存在する高SO42-濃度下ではSyngeniteとして固定化されることを明らかにした。さらに、上記の鉱物として固定された場合と、低SO42-濃度で鉱物として固定されていない場合のいずれについても、C-S-Hに収着したSO42-は溶出可能であるものと考えられた。
