this paper undertakes the synthesis of a logic-based switching h2/h∞ state-feedback controller for continuous-time lti singular perturbation systems. our solution achieves a minimum bound on the h2 performance level, while also satisfying the h∞ performance requirements. the proposed hybrid control scheme is based on a fuzzy supervisor managing the combination of two controllers. a convex lmi-b...

Kalman filtering has been widely considered for dynamic state estimation in smart grids. Despite its unique merits, the Kalman Filter (KF)-based dynamic state estimation can be undesirably influenced by cyber adversarial attacks that can potentially be launched against the communication links in the Cyber-Physical System (CPS). To enhance the security of KF-based state estimation, in this paper...

We consider a stationary two-phase Stefan problem with convection. The problem is governed by a coupled system involving a nonlinear Darcy law and the energy balance equation with second member in L 1. We prove existence of at least one weak solution of the problem, using the penalty method and the Schauder xed point principle.

state compensation to crime victims means paying money by the governmental institutions to victims or his/her families, when restitution by the offender and other financial sources is accessible. in the legal system of england, law of criminal damages includes all aspects of state compensation such as: conditions of eligibility related to victims, crimes, damages, perpetrators as well as proced...

This paper studies a series production system through the integration of the decisions associated with Maintenance Management (MM) and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Hence, the primary question of the paper can be stated as follows: In a series production system, how can the decisions of MM and SPC be coordinated? To this end, an integrated mathematical model of MM and SPC is developed. Usi...

linear state bisection is introduced as a new method to find time-invariant state feedback control laws for a special form of underactuated nonlinear systems. the specialty of the systems considered is that every unactuated state should be coupled with at least two directly actuated states. the basic idea is based on bisecting actuated states and using linear combinations with adjustable parame...

We compare two approaches for a Markovian model in flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) using Monte Carlo simulation. The model which is a development of Fazlollahtabar and Saidi-Mehrabad (2013), considers two features of automated flexible manufacturing systems equipped with automated guided vehicle (AGV) namely, the reliability of machines and the reliability of AGVs in a multiple AGV jobsho...

In this study, a control strategy for the series hybrid electric vehicle (SHEV) powertrain, based on the design of fixed-boundary-layer sliding mode controllers (FBLSMCs) and a battery charge scenario, is presented to enhance engine efficiency as well as extend battery cycle life. An appropriate battery charge scenario is designed to remove surge charge current, keep the battery staying in a hi...

In this study the interaction between self-excited and paramet rically excited oscillations in two-degree-of-freedom systems with quadratic nonlinearities is investigated. The fundamental parametric resonance of the first mode and 3:1 internal resonance is considered, followed by 1:2 internal and parametric resonances of the second mode. The method of multiple time scales is applied to derive f...

In this work it is described how to enhance and generalize the equivalent model (arXiv:0802.0421) of integrate-and-fire dynamics in order to treat any complex neuronal networks, especially those exibiting modular structure. It has been shown that, though involving only a handful of equivalent neurons, the modular equivalent model was capable of providing impressive predictions about the non-lin...
