In multicast-type services, many receivers share a single data flow. The question is how to split the cost of such a flow among the receivers. There is a need to provide receivers with reasonable feedback on the cost that their network usage incurs. Therefore, cost sharing methods will play an important role in multicast-type services in the future. This paper discusses cost sharing methods whe...

This paper presents a general structure for Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) equalizers from which we can derive instances such as the: two proposed Linear Equalizers with Extrinsic Feedback (LE-EF), Linear Equalizer (LE) and Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE). The Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) chart was used to analyze the two proposed MMSE LE-EF receivers and their characteristics was ...

In this paper, noncoherent receivers for differential space–time modulation (DSTM) are investigated. It is shown that the performance of the previously proposed conventional differential detection (DD) receiver is satisfactory only for very slow flat fading channels. However, conventional DD suffers from a considerable loss in performance even for moderately fast fading. In order to overcome th...

An RTP profile (SAVP) for secure real-time communications and another profile (AVPF) to provide timely feedback from the receivers to a sender are defined in RFC 3711 and RFC 4585, respectively. This memo specifies the combination of both profiles to enable secure RTP communications with feedback. Ott & Carrara Standards Track [Page 1] RFC 5124 February 2008 Table of

We derive an isoperimetric theorem for sequences genenerated by feedback and consider block codes for the binary broadcast channel with two receivers and noiseless feedback. We get an outer bound by applying the isoperimetric theorem on the achievable rates for special cases of these codes with unequal error protection. We get a lower bound with a generalized Varshamov-Gilbert construction.

building on previous studies on the effectiveness of different types of written corrective feedback, the present study aimed at investigating whether direct focused corrective feedback and direct unfocused corrective feedback produced any differential effects on the accurate use of english articles by efl learners across two different proficiency levels (low and high). in current study, the par...

Real time multicast video distribution is an important component of many multimedia applications. Our work addresses the fairness problem in feedback-controlled multicast video distribution systems over best effort networks (such as the Internet). In previous work we proposed, implemented and experimented with a scheme, called destination set grouping (DSG), where a source maintains a small num...
