Employing more than one supplier and splitting orders between them is a strategy employed in supply chains to lessen the lead-time risk in unstable environments. In this paper we present a multiple-sourcing inventory system with stochastic lead-times and constant demand controlle
A multiple objective approach for joint ordering and pricing planning problem with stochastic lead times
Abstract The integration of marketing and demand with logistics and inventories (supply side of companies) may cause multiple improvements; it can revolutionize the management of the revenue of rental companies, hotels, and airlines. In this paper, we develop a multi-objective pr
A stochastic multi objective mathematical model to optimize a production and distribution system with stochastic demand and stochastic lead time
Abstract Production and distribution network (PDN) planning in multi-stage status is commonly complex. These conditions cause significant amount of uncertainty relating to demand and lead time. In this study, we introduce a PDN to deliver the products to customers in the least ti
A multiple objective approach for joint ordering and pricing planning problem with stochastic lead times
The integration of marketing and demand with logistics and inventories (supply side of companies) may cause multiple improvements; it can revolutionize the management of the revenue of rental companies, hotels, and airlines. In this paper, we develop a multi-objective pricing-inv
Optimal flexible capacity in newsboy problem under stochastic demand and lead-time
In this paper, we consider a newsvendor who is going to invest on dedicated or flexible capacity, our goal is to find the optimal investment policy to maximize total profit while the newsvendor faces uncertainty in lead time and demand simultaneously. As highlighted in literature
Optimal Expediting Policies for a Serial Inventory System with Stochastic Lead Time and Visibility of Orders In Transit
Recent supply chains face higher volatility due to increased length and complexity. Cost pressure from severe competition drives industries to outsource its production to Asia, which in turn makes the supply chains long and complex. As a result, it is increasingly critical to man
Optimal Relief Order Quantity under Stochastic Demand and Lead-time
In this paper, a newsboy model is developed under uniformly distributed lead-time and demand that is an appropriate assumption in obtaining optimal relief inventory of humanitarian disasters. It is noteworthy that limited historical data are in hand on relief operations. Hence, a
A seller-buyer supply chain model with exponential distribution lead time
Supply chain is an accepted way of remaining in the competition in today's rapidly changing market. This paper presents a coordinated seller-buyer supply chain model in two stages, which is called Joint Economic Lot Sizing (JELS) in literature. The delivery activities in the supp
The safety stock and inventory cost paradox in a stochastic lead time setting
We study a stochastic lead-time problem motivated by real world global shipping data. Replenishment quantities are generated by the Order-Up-To policy which aims to achieve a strategic availability target. We show that unlike the constant lead-time case, minimum safety stocks do
Lost-Sales Problems with Stochastic Lead Times: Convexity Results for Base-Stock Policies
We consider a single-location inventory system with periodic review and stochastic demand. It places replenishment orders to raise the inventory position—that is, inventory on hand plus inventory in transit—to exactly S at the beginning of every period. The lead time associated w
