Diagnostics for normal errors in regression currently utilize ordinary residuals, despite the failure of assumptions validating their use. Case studies here show that such misuse may be critical even in samples of size exceeding currently accepted guidelines. A remedy is to employ recovered errors having the required properties.
Ridge estimate has been suggested as an alternative to the maximum likelihood estimate in the presence of collinearity among the elements of unobservable values in measurement error models. This paper studies the local influence of minor perturbations on the ridge estimate in the measurement error model. The diagnostics under the perturbation of variance and explanatory variables are considered...
This paper investigates the causal relationship between environmental quality and corruption for 129 countries, using panel cointegration panel-based error correction models period 2002-2015. In paper, we use EPI, EHI, EVI to represent quality, which are more reasonable comprehensive. We further take industry growth into consideration investigate its impact on quality. Our results corroborate t...
the present study seeks to determine the effect of explicit instruction of metacognitive strategies on iranian high school students’ reading comprehension ability. it also attempts to investigate the relationship between the learners reading comprehension and metacognitive strategies. furthermore, the study investigates whether iranian efl female high school students are high, medium, or low me...
Identi cation in errors-in-variables regression models was recently extended to wide models classes by S. Schennach (Econometrica, 2007) (S) via use of generalized functions. In this paper the problems of nonand semiparametric identi cation in such models are re-examined. Nonparametric identi cation holds under weaker assumptions than in (S); the proof here does not rely on decomposition of gen...
abstract the variables affecting the nature of reading comprehension can be classified into two general categories: reader’s variables, and text variables (alderson, 2000). despite the wave of research on vocabulary knowledge as reader’s variable, the role of this knowledge in c-test as a text-dependent test and its interaction with lexical cohesion of the test as a text feature has remained a...
In comparison with other productive sectors of economy, the growth of the industry has become one of the most essential approaches to economic development. This study explores the effects of monetary & fiscal policy shocks on production, employment and wages in the industry sector of Iran’s economy over the period 2004 - 2017. In this research, using time series data and econometrics technique...
this study investigated the potential role of age in inductive and deductive grammar learning among iranian foreign language learners. the experimental population consisted of our randomly selected samples including two groups of children (with age of exposure to english within 8-13), and two groups of adults (with age of exposure to english within 11-13). thus, the comparison was between ch...
this study investigates the effect of teacher’s repetition as an input enhancement technique in explicit teaching of vocabulary items on efl learners’ later retrieval. to this end, 66 persian speaking english learners, aged 18 - 29, homogenized through a standard proficiency test (opt), were chosen and put into two experimental and control groups, each 33 learners. general service list (gsl), a...
