Faraday probe measurements were taken in the near-field plume of a 6-kW Hall thruster to reduce the negative effects of facility-induced charge-exchange collisions. The results from these measurements were analyzed using a non-standard definition of the current density integration bounds that produced self-consistent beam current and beam divergence values. The measurements indicated a beam div...

It is well known that any given density ρ(x) can be realized by a determinantal wave function for N particles. The question addressed here is whether any given density ρ(x) and current density j(x) can be simultaneously realized by a (finite kinetic energy) determinantal wave function. In case the velocity field v(x) = j(x)/ρ(x) is curlfree, we provide a solution for all N , and we provide an e...

Discrete approaches have long been used in numerical modelling of physical systems in both research and teaching. Discrete versions of the Schrödinger equation employing either one or several basis functions per mesh point are often used by senior undergraduates and beginning graduate students in computational physics projects. In studying discrete models, students can encounter conceptual diff...

Introduction: Radiofrequency current density imaging (RFCDI) measures currents at the Larmor frequency [1]. It is potentially useful for applications such as predicting and monitoring RF ablation treatment patterns or measuring the effectiveness of pacemaker insulators. Currents at the Larmor frequency create magnetic fields that act as an effective B1 field, exciting magnetization. By measurin...

A numerical method was developed for predicting current density distribution in electrochemical systems of several species at steady-state. The fundamental transport equation consisted a partial differential equation (PDE) involving linear terms of diffusion and laminar convection, and nonlinear terms of ionic migration. The boundary conditions (BCs) consisted also PDEs including flux condition...

Composite coatings with nickel matrix and ceramic reinforcement particles have high ability to improve surface properties, such as good corrosion and abrasion resistance. In this study, Ni-P composite coating was coated with ZrO2 and TiO2 ceramic particles on the AISI 316 steel substrate through direct current plating method. The effect of the current densities of 20, 30, 40 and 50 mA/cm2 on th...

General circulation of Persian Gulf has a cyclonic pattern that affected by tide, wind stress and thermohaline force. Although tidal force is very effective in values of current speed, but thermohaline force is dominant in long time because tidal forcing has a short period and returning nature. Tide and density parameters are important in navigating and shipping, especially when ships approachi...

The Electric current density imaging technique (CDI) was used to monitor the dissolution of and ion migration from tablets of different acids in agar-agar gel. Conventional MRI cannot monitor these processes, since it can only show changes in the size of the tablet during the dissolving process. CDI traces the dissolved ions thanks to changes in conductivity.

Fuel cells directly convert chemical energy into electrical power using electrochemical reactions. Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is one of the high-temperature fuel cells that propose a promising future from the standpoint of power generation. In this study, optimization of an SOFC system is performed using Taguchi approach after verification of the model in compare with experimental results. Cu...
